HealthWatch Suffolk

Hello, we’re Healthwatch Suffolk

We are here to listen to your experiences of health and social care services in Suffolk so that we can use your views to make services better. We also provide information and signposting to help you navigate the health and social care system and understand what to do when things go wrong.

We have the strength of the law behind us. It means that the people who run and pay for health and care services must respond to our concerns explaining what action they will take, or why they are not taking action. We get your voice heard where it matters; where decisions are made.

You can use this website to rate, review and improve services for your local community – HealthWatch Suffolk

Free NHS Health Checks

Stowmarket Town Council is pleased to support OneLife Suffolk in its provision of free NHS Health Checks at Milton House in July, August and September 2018

What is an NHS Health Check?

The NHS Health Check is a national screening programme, screening people for their risk of developing cardiovascular disease. The NHS Health Check is a bit like a mid-life MOT to assess risk of developing potential health problems and to highlight health concerns before they impact on quality of life.

A range of routine health tests form part of the NHS Health Check and the results will give you a clearer picture of your health and your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease or diabetes. One Life Suffolk provide free 30 minute individual health advice and screening appointments on a date to suit you.

The Cinnamon Trust Volunteer Appeal Stowmarket

The Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity for the terminally ill and people in their later years and their much loved, much needed companion animals. We urgently need dog walking volunteers in Stowmarket for a beautiful 8 year old Cocker Spaniel who would love to go for a good walk.

What happens if illness, injury or just the fact that we all get older affects our ability to look after our four legged companions?  Elderly or ill pet owners become very worried about their ability to care for their pets feeling that their only option is to rehome them, this is where our national network of dedicated volunteers step in to offer support enabling them to stay together.

We’ll walk the dog for a housebound owner, we’ll foster pets when owners need hospital care, we’ll fetch the cat food, even clean out the bird cage or litter trays.

We always need new volunteers even if you can only spare an hour a week we would love to hear from you. If you could help please call during office hours 01736 758707 or via email volunteer@cinnamon.org.uk  Please also check out our website for more details www.cinnamon.org.uk
