Councillor Heather Salmon
27 Windermere Road
01449 616012 / 07722 871205
I am married to Barry and we have two sons; David and Paul. Paul is married to Amanda, and they have twin children; Robert and Charlotte.
Prior to my retirement three years ago, I worked with Adults with learning disabilities in the town.
I have just been re-elected to the Town Council for the south ward in the town. I had previously been on the Council for several years and served as Town Mayor in 1998-1999.
The town is growing fast with many new houses being built, we have a thriving town centre and new business opening in the town. I want to play an active role in our local community, and believe as one of your local Councillors I can make a difference.
I’m a volunteer at the Museum of East Anglian Life and I volunteer with the Pickerel Project, which looks after the River Gipping in the town. On the first Sunday of every month we carryout litter picks and undertake maintenance on the riverbank.
I am a member of Stowmarket Wildlife Trust and I am the Secretary of the Town Twinning Association. I also belong to the University of the Third Age (U3A).
My hobbies are photography, gardening and walking, we walk regularly with the University of the Third Age group and have discovered some hidden gems in and around the local area.
