Each week until nominations close on the 29th June we will be showcasing two award categories from the Town Awards. This week we will be focusing on Young Person of the Year Award & Teacher/Youth Leader of the Year Award.
Teacher (or Youth Leader/Coach) of the Year Award
Awarded to a person who has inspired young people either in school life or in local clubs and groups.
Councillor Heather Salmon said “We can all remember the teacher or youth leader in our lives who inspired us to learn, pursue an interest or develop a particular talent. In fact, there are many such people in our town today. If you know someone who stands out from the rest in being a positive role model for young people why not nominate them for an Award?”
The Teacher/Youth Leader of the Year Award is sponsored by Rotary Club of Stowmarket. Philip R. Jeffries, of the Rotary Club of Stowmarket said “The Rotary Club of Stowmarket is very pleased to be the sponsors of the Teacher/Youth Leader as part of the 2018 Stowmarket Town Awards. This particular award is very relevant to the Rotary movement as it highlights what our organisation represents “ Service above Self “ Rotary works with and for Local Communities, Supports Young People , International Projects such as Polio Plus and Shelter boxes.”
