Stowmarket Town Council brings the seaside to Stowmarket, when they hold the town’s annual Beach Party event on 1st September at the Recreation Ground.

The free to enter community event will see all the fun of the seaside with live music, donkey rides, punch & judy, a giant sand pit, circus skills

workshopp, bouncy castles, face painting and lots more family fun.

2014 saw the adding of the popular ‘Golden Mile’ race to the Beach Party festivities, organised in partnership with the Stowmarket Striders, the race attracted well over 200 runners, each making their way from Pikes Meadow to the Recreation Ground, in 2015 the race grew to 250 runners.

Race Director Tucker Larke said: ‘Stowmarket Striders are once again delighted to be hosting the Golden Mile which will see 300 runners of all ages and abilities run through the town centre of stowmarket before finishing on the recreation ground at the Beach Party’.

David Marsh organises the Beach Party on behalf of Stowmarket Town Council, he said: “The event has always been about creating a great day out that the whole family could enjoy together without spending a fortune, a free event like this couldn’t take place without our main sponsor

Stowmarket Buildbase and the support of District Councillors Barry Humphreys, Dave Muller, Lesley Mayes, Paul  Ekpenyong, Nick Gowrley and many more’.

The Beach Party will also give local charities and community groups a chance to fund raise or raise their profile; any groups interested in having a free pitch at the event should email stephaniee@stowmarket.org

Stowmarket Beach Party runs from 12.00 – 5.30pm on Saturday 1st September 2018 at the Stowmarket Recreation Ground, IP14 1JR.
