Stowmarket Town Council plays an important role in keeping Stowmarket tidy. Town Council Maintenance Staff carry out regular litter picks of certain parts of the town to supplement the work of Mid Suffolk District Council’s street cleaning team who carry out the majority of the litter picking. Town Council staff also litter pick their own land, including the Recreation Ground.

If you wish to report any untidiness, our Environment Officer,  Neil Berry, is always happy to help.
If there is anything that Neil can help with, please email him at  or call 01449 612060

Neil will be able to advise you if something is the responsibility of Mid Suffolk District Council as they are responsible for maintaining levels of street cleanliness which includes dealing with:

Dog bins
Dog fouling
Dead animals
Litter bin emptying
Litter on highways and highways land
Recycling site litter
Street sweeping

For more information or to report problems contact Mid Suffolk District Council, 131 High Street, Needham Market IP6 8DL, tel: 01449 724500 or email:

You will need to give an accurate location, whether the location is private land or highway (if known), the nature of the complaint and the date it was first noticed.
