Councillor Dave Muller
I enjoy being a town councillor as I like helping people and I want to see Stowmarket thrive. I enjoy working with colleagues from the Town Council and my fellow councillors, because as a group we all want the best for our residents and the town.
I spent 38 years in the Civil Service, retiring in 2011. I have held many managerial positions throughout my career.
Following my retirement I spent a couple of years working as a volunteer in the Cancer Research Shop in the town, managing the shop and other branches in the manager’s absence. Since 2012 I have been a member of a Community Interest Company (CIC) which has responsibility for Cedars Park Community Centre and I have chaired the CIC Board since 2016. I also manage the centre.
I am a trained auditor having undertaken secondments during my career with both the Department of Health and Audit Commission. I am also a qualified LEAN Practitioner, having prepared and delivered LEAN training courses for the Department of Work & Pensions and a qualified NVQ assessor. I have an Open University degree in Government, Politics and Economics.
I have been a councillor for four years serving on both Stowmarket Town Council and Mid Suffolk District Council.
In addition to my work as a councillor I am also: –
- A member of the Mid Suffolk Citizens Advice Trustee Board
- Chair of the Civilian Committee of 1331 Squadron RAF cadets
- A local Police Volunteer.
If you have an issue you would like to discuss with me, I can be contacted during the daytime, at the Cedars Park Community Centre, which I manage, usually between 7.15am and 3.15pm on 01449 257303, or alternatively, I can be contacted via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
You are also welcome to drop in and see me at the Centre (it is worth phoning first to ensure that I am in the office). If you are unable to discuss an issue during the daytime, I am happy to arrange an appointment at a mutually convenient time & place etc.
