The Town Council is committed to the improvement of the strategic play area and sites and have recently upgraded the play area at the Recreation Ground, Finborough Road. The £50,000 investment saw the installation of new pieces of equipment, including Suffolk’s first double cableway along with an upgrade of some of the existing pieces of equipment. Along side the double zip wire there is also a space net, climbing wall, swings for all ages, roundabout, balancing board and climbing frame along with a large grassed area where children are free to run around and play ball games. The Recreation Ground is also services by a café with public toilets and a skate park.
The play area on Chilton Fields, Chilton Way, consists of a large slide, swings, rocking horse and springers. This play area is due to be redeveloped in the near future.
Located near Combs Ford Primary School, Glemsford Way play area was totally renovated in 2014 and had a farmyard theme. There is a large tractor climbing frame, obstacle course, sunken trampoline, swings and animal springers.
